Aero Biotek has developed a device called Biotek Shield which will neutralize 99.9999% of airborne pathogens. HEPA filters leave behind close to 1,000 times more pathogens. Biotek Shield is designed to be installed in the air conditioning system of any environment such as an aircraft, vehicle or stationary setting away from passengers and crew. Biotek Shield uses UVC (ultraviolet) light technology to continually neutralize airborne pathogens like bacteria and viruses, making them incapable of infecting a host.
This simulation demonstrates the change in velocity as air flows through the
●99.9999% effectiveness against all pathogens
●Continuous cabin air treatment on ground and in flight
●Proven UVC hospital grade effectiveness
UVC light is used in hospital operating rooms and has been for some time. It works very well and neutralizes all contagions — LOG 6. Log reduction is a mathematical term that is used to express the relative number of living microbes that are eliminated by disinfection. LOG 6 neutralizes 99.9999% of all microorganisms. Hospital surgical suites disinfect to a Log reduction 5-6. Our test plan also includes testing our system with the COVID-19 virus.
Viruses and bacteria exist in the air in very large numbers that are difficult to describe directly. Due to this, the number of reduced viable organisms in the air after any treatment is measured on a log scale. See following chart for additional information on the effectivity scale — post treatment.
Log Scale | Effectivity | Pathogens Remaining | Product Type |
---|---|---|---|
LOG 2 | 99% | 10,000 | Ionizer |
LOG 3 | 99.9% | 1,000 | HEPA filters |

LOG 5 | 99.999% | 10 | - |
